Arriving late to an already highly competitive market the PS3 is Sony's hope of reinventing their renowned line of gaming products. The PS3 boasts an impressive sleek black design mountable both vertically and horizontally which comes second to an even more impressive array of features the console offers. This is the high-end version of the PS3 and thus it has a vast 80GB HD along the usual Multi-Format card-reader, Network connectivity via WiFi and Bluetooth, USB2 connectivity, HDMI 1.3, sophisticated Blue-Ray slot drive and of course cutting edge components. This is an extremely versatile device which not only delivers an immersive gaming experience but does much more. Thanks to superb video/audio playback capabilities the PS3 can easily function as a media hub in a home-entertainment, the only real drawback of the being the lack of video upscaling support. Other key features of the PS3 are full backward compatibility with older PS1/PS2 titles, a free online gaming and content service and the ability to interface with other electronic devices such as digital cameras and other portable devices. The PS3's controller is very similar to that of the PS2 but has undergone some changes in design and now has a built-in battery recharged via USB and more importantly some new tricks in the form of game enriching motion sensing capabilities making the PS3 even more appealing. This is a great console but the 60GB model is more affordable and insignificantly different.
