With large widescreen monitors becoming increasingly common the demands for these increases. The Samsung 226BW is very elegantly designed 22 inch widescreen monitor which on terms of looks definitely outshining the average monitors. Sadly, albeit looking great it offers only the option to change the level of tilt. The 226BW boasts a very fast 2ms response time (Grey to Grey) which is nice but overall irrelevant in most cases as such low response times are more of a gimmick than a relevancy. The 226BW connects either via analogue VGA or via Digital DVI and there are no other additional features as far as connectivity goes but it is worth mentioning that the DVI port is HDCP compliant. There are quite a lot of options to customize the image settings to your liking such as Color Tone, Brightness, Color Levels and more which are all accessible via the on-screen-display. There is also a Dynamic Contrast Mode which automatically controls brightness depending on the contrast but the results in this mode are usually not great. As the 226BW utilizes a basic 6bit TN panel which means viewing angles are just 160 degrees both horizontally and vertically. The Maximal resolution is 1680x1050which is just short a bit under full HD but higher than 720p content so this can indeed be used to view HD content mostly in its native resolution. Overall, the image quality is good and colors are sharp and vivid, this display does not suit professional use but will be great for the average user. Minimize
