The Samsung SyncMaster 225BW is intended to be an affordable 22 inch widescreen display intended for the average user and to serve both the needs of an office environment and those of a home user. The design of the 225BW is pretty sleek but aside for that it also has some handy adjustability options such as height adjustment, tilt and swivel. The native resolution of this display is 1680x1050 pixels at a ratio of 16:10 as it is a widescreen display, connectivity wise there is a standard D-Sub VGA connector and an HDCP compliant DVI connector which means it's possible to view protected BlueRay and HD-DVD content on this monitor. Another mentionable plus of the 225BW is the great extent to which it can be calibrated either via the simple on-screen-menu or the included Samsung software; this allows the user to reach ideal performance and image quality that suits his taste and environment. Business users would appreciate the sharp text definition provided by this display even at very small font sizes while home users would appreciate the excellent performance both in games and in multimedia use, there is a minor issue with vertical viewing angles but it is only apparent if the display is located above eye level. As said thanks to the 5 seconds GtG response time there are no issues of ghosting in games or videos. Overall this display provides very nice results consider its affordable price tag.
