The Panasonic TH-50PZ700 is truly quite an engineering marvel when it comes to plasma displays as it is one of the only true high-definition plasmas on the market with support of resolutions as high as 1080p which is far above the capabilities of the average plasma. The PZ700 is technologically advanced and very well features as can be noticed by the powerful audio system and the SD card slot for direct viewing of digital pictures. The image quality is really impeccable, second marginally only to Pioneer's High-End KURO models. This is possible thanks to the Viera V-Real Pro 2 image processing system, extensive colour management and a digital image optimizer. This Plasma also has excellent contrast thanks to ‘Real Black Drive' and Deep Black Filter technology for boosting black level response. The PZ700 has superb connectivity with three HDMI 1.3 connectors being joined by component video, D-Sub PC and two RGB SCARTs as well. Thanks to the aforementioned features the PZ700 does not disappoint on any field and both True HD and upscaled content look superb and are a delight to view. As mentioned before the sound system is also among the strong points of this device and the quality of the stereo speakers is truly very good, though audiophiles will probably still be left unsatisfied as it can't match the performance of more expensive dedicated sound systems. This TV is truly an exquisite choice if you're seeking a high-end high-def display but it comes with a hefty price tag.
