The Nokia n73 is an attempt to create a device with functionality of more than just the ordinary Mobile Phone which still isn't really a full fledged personal organizer. By Nokia’s standards the N73 is slim and sleek at 110 x 49 x 19mm and 116g. It incorporates a high quality 2.4 inch 240x320 pixels display at the front. The control buttons are large and responsive as well as the mini joystick. The number/letter keys are at the center and are surrounded by 4 additional function keys making overall control convenient once you're used to the interface. When it comes to features, the n73 is a 3G (with Quad-band GSM) device and there is a front facing camera for video calls located above the screen. On the top and bottom ends are stereo speakers which provide decent sound quality. A provided headset which connects to the Nokia Pop-Port interface also does a good job both for MP3s and the FM radio. Extension of the limited internal memory is possible via the integrated miniSD slot. One of the appeals of this handheld is the impressive 3.2mp camera which can produce satisfactory sharp images with good detail which is unusual and most welcome in such a device. The N73 runs Symbian S60 3rd edition. PC Suite is supplied and you get a data cable for synchronization. Anyone keen on using this handset for work purposes might find the PDF reader and QuickOffice viewers for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents quite handy. Overall this is a versatile easy to operate device.
