The Nokia 8800 is a prime example of just how much Nokia pushes the limits of innovative mobile design. With the Nokia’s silver chassis and stainless-steel body, you’d expect to see it in a James Bond movie (the phone was featured in the movie “The Island”). The most striking feature of the Nokia 8800 is its sleek and sexy outer design, which is somewhat marred by the phone’s low battery life and the cramped keypad making it difficult to use. The Nokia 8800 does however contain some quality attributes for a mobile phone, such as a high pixel resolution on its 1.6 inch diagonal screen, Bluetooth, a superior speakerphone and an SVGA camera.
The Nokia 8800 features regular mobile PIM functions, including a translator and a Mobile Wallet 2.0 application. The Nokia 8800 can store an additional 250 contacts on the SIM card, it can pair a contact with an image for caller-ID purposes, or one of 64 polyphonic ring tones. The Nokia 8800 can also send text and multimedia messages as instant messages and e-mail (SMTP, POP3, and IMAP4). Mobile business users will be pleased to know that the Nokia 8800 model has an integrated Bluetooth, voice-memo support, and PC syncing with the Nokia PC Suite, including WAP 2.0 wireless Web browser. The Nokia 8800 world phone faired well with triband testing, and the call quality was excellent on both ends of the conversation, although the speakerphone was slightly muffled. Minimize
