Hewlett Packard LaserJet 2600n Printer

The HP LaserJet 2600n is meant to be an affordable color laser printer intended for small businesses or home offices so if you were previously interested in a color laser printer and was deterred by the price the 2600n might make you reconsider. The 2600n offers both USB 2.0 connectivity and network connectivity via an Ethernet connector so you could plug this printer directly to a router and have it shared across a network with ease. Unfortunately in order to make the 2600n so affordable HP cut some corners and it lacks some features similar products have such as two-sided printing. Another disappointing point about this printer is that albeit the overall build quality is satisfactory the control buttons lack in functionality and there is only a measly two row display. The 2600n does have some redeeming features as it is easy to operate and can house up to 250 sheets in the bottom drawer as well as an additional 250 via an optional drawer. Paper insertion and toner replacement are also uncomplicated. As far as performance goes the 2600n does really well for black print which is sharp and without smudges, color printing and grayscale printing is also decently carried out but when it comes to printing photos the results are poor. Overall printing speeds are decent but unimpressive. Upkeep for the 2600n is also quite expensive. A page of black text uses about 3 cents' worth of toner, a lightly covered color page uses about 15.3 cents' worth making this less appealing.
