These upgrades speed up the computer's performance significantly- by about 35 percent. It also has an aluminum casing (as opposed to the white of most Apple consumer products) and is relatively lightweight, although not an ultra-portable laptop. The keyboard and touchpad are comfortable, the screen is good (although doesn't have as wide a viewing angle as one could hope), there is an built-in webcam and it comes with a tiny FrontRow remote control for playing back movies, photos and photos. Connectivity is good, although it lacks a media card reader; and the power cord connects by magnet, so you won't knock the computer off the table if you trip over the cord. Another interesting feature is the Windows XP support, which can be run simultaneously with Apple's OS-X, enabling the use of Windows applications and running PC games. Included in the software package is the full Apple iLife software suite, for building Web sites, creating DVDs, composing music, and working with photos. And even though it isn't cheap, the MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo does provide the goods, and does so in style.
